Celebrating one year of community organizing around food justice in Brooklyn
April 19, 2010 – To celebrate the first anniversary of its founding, Brooklyn Food Coalition is throwing a Brooklyn-based birthday bash. One year ago this May, the wildly successful Brooklyn Food Conference attracted over 3,300 adults and 500 kids, and launched the Brooklyn Food Coalition (BFC).
Three reasons to party with BFC:
1. Author Anna Lappe discussing and signing her latest book, Diet for a Hot Planet: The Climate Crisis at the End of Your Fork and What You Can Do About It
2. Local restaurants providing delicious local foods/drinks & raffle prizes, including Ici, Bark, Six Point, Convivium Osteria, Nana, The V-Spot, Red White & Bubbly, Belleville, and Heritage Food pork ribs smoked by Fatty 'Cue.
3. DJ Nickodemus and DJ Sabo spinning from 9:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Food + 1 drink included with $15-50 suggested donation; then cash bar
Please help "green" this event: bring your own plate/cup/cutlery if possible.

About the DJs
Nickodemus has been a key element in the NYC dance music scene for over 10 years. His style explores the intersection of Urban and World Music with sounds of Funk, Folk, Jazz, Hip Hop, House, and Dub, all with a message of peace, awareness, and of course, the love for dance.
From Disco to Reggae, Miami Bass to House, Latin to Techno, DJ Sabo is known to be locked into each style as if it were the only thing he's been spinning for the past 10 years and he flows seamlessly from one genre to the next. Witness the roof shake with his signature "funky music to make you feel good" style.
