13 organizers attended

1. New organizing materials were presented and are now available on our website: What You Can Do, National School Food Program, List of Programs, Roadmap for School Food Outreach.
2. Kristen Schoonover led a discussion about how you can help light the fire of change and democracy in your school: meet with the PTA, parents, teachers, administrators, get partnership meetings going, and make sure parents connect with each other. Be especially careful to treat cafeteria staff with respect!
3. Caroline Angle is organizing tabling at events and petitioning at greenmarkets to get CNA letters signed. To volunteer, contact volunteerforschoolfoodbfc@gmail.com.
4. How do we engage neighborhood groups? Kristen will be meeting with neighborhood groups to get people going. We could also encourage people to volunteer at local school gardens.
5. Planning an event: we decided to plan for a fall event, pay special attention to PS 10's Healthy Steps Expo and use their event as a template.
6. We elected Kristen Schoonover as our delegate. Benjamin Solotaire is the alternate.
7. Announcements:
Upcoming tabling opportunities: Climate Awareness Day March 7, PS 10 Heath Steps Expo March 16, Brad Lander event also at PS 10, March 18.

Parents at PS 39 (6th Av and 8th st) have been having a lively online discussion about how to improve lunch at our school. Someone posted a link to your page. How can we get involved?

Hi, I'm new here, but want to get involved/offer my services. I run a group out of El Puente Academy for Peace and Justice in Williamsburg, called El Colectivo de Arte y Habichuelas. We've been working on food justice issues, particularly farm and garden to school lunch, for several years now. We'd love to hook up with what ever initiatives on under way.
