Brooklynites for a just & sustainable system for tasty, healthy, affordable food

Welcome to the Brooklyn Food Coalition!

To see our calendar of events click here. To read about calls to action click here.

We invite you to join the social networking component to this website! Click the "Join" button on the upper right-hand corner. Check out this video which shows you how to use a Ning network. Keep in mind that our network does not look exactly the same as the one below. A customized video for this network is coming soon.

We highly recommend joining a neighborhood group or an issue group. You can join more than one group, and you are not limited to the neighborhood you live in. If there is a group you think belongs in the network please add it.

How do I post an event?

How do I add an avatar to my profile?

How do I submit a proposal?

How do I post a call to action?

How do I post a volunteer opportunity?

How do I post a question to the network community?

How do I post my neighborhood meeting agendas and minutes?

This is still too complicated for me. Now what?

For additional questions contact us at info@brooklynfoodcoalition.org.

If you don't want to join the network but still want access to information on the website you can just make a habit of checking it once a day. You can also subscribe to the events calendar without joining the network. Click on "View All" at the bottom right-hand side of the Events box. Then scroll down to the end of the new window and click on the RSS symbol on the bottom left corner.

Do I have to join the network?

No you do not! This is just one way to participate in the Brooklyn Food Coalition. If you are uncomfortable signing up with the social network you can just come by and visit. We will continue posting helpful information that anyone can access, whether or not they join.

I don't have Internet access at home but I still want to join the network. How can I still join?

This is an excellent opportunity to gain some web skills. New York City libraries provide free Internet access. All you have to do is sign up for a session. Click here to find a library near you.
